Best Places to Meet Women in San Francisco
71And they're not all bars... !!
Truth be told, I don't usually consciously attempt to 'meet women' out in the great city of San Francisco. But in the little over a year that I've lived here I've been pleasantly surprised with how easy it is to meet cool, laid-back, intelligent, athletic women with real jobs (not that those are important factors to everyone, or even to me for that matter). Here is a list of some of the places where I have been pleasantly surprised:
1) ACDelco Auto parts store. Believe it or not, I have met several nice women at this particular venue. Of course from time to time they are in dungarees with greasy hands, but hey that's a normal look for this guy too. So what the hey.
2) Open mic nights. Totally! These events are a lot of fun, I encourage everyone to try one out. I generally start off with a freestyle rap (usually with some degree of political propoganda involved) and just see what falls out of the sky. Usually it's someone with about 17 tattoos and lots of progressive thinking. Including the idea of not wearing deodorant, but whatever my sense of smell isn't that great anyhow. They like to wear black a lot.
3) Dumpster Diving. No joke on this one, every once in a while when it's been a tough, long day and I'm looking for a little treat I invariably come across some woman who happens to be on the same page as me. And frankly, in Pacific Heights, they tend to be reasonably clean - usually as clean if not cleaner than me. I once met the same girl two nights in a row, the first night at an open mic event, the second at my favorite dumpster - Presidio and Clay. Seriously!!
4) Martuni's Piano Bar on Market Street. This place is SO sweet. I can't believe how many hotties show up here. They are typically all dolled-up and just looking ready to party! I have chatted with many of them but up to this point have only made a few friends. They tend to have names that are a little offbeat (at least for a guy from Connecticut) but they are super sweet ladies. Though every once in a while I swear I hear their voices crack. Whatever, they are really cool.
